- When you share your record with another MyOSCAR user, the level of access they have depends on the role you give them.
- There are five roles at present:
- Primary Care Provider - This is the highest level of access. Appropriate for your family doctor and other members of your health care team, this enables your provider to view your entire record. A Primary Care Provider can also update your record by editing entries and adding new information, annotations and documents. Changes your provider makes will be attributed to him or her in theUpdate History of any entry or document. A user with this role can send you secure messages, but cannot view your inbox or your sharing folder.
- Family Member - This user can read your immunization records and contact information, but all other portions of your record will appear blank. He or she can send you secure messages.
- School - This user can read your immunization records and contact information, but all other portions of your record will appear blank. He or she cannot send you a message.
- Research Administrator - This role is intended for administrators in a study of MyOSCAR once a Surveys section is enabled. A user with this role can send you secure messages but does not have access to any information in your record.
- Friend - This user can send you secure messages but cannot see any part of your record.
- Note that while adding someone as one of these roles gives them a specific level of access to your record, it has no effect on your access to their record or your ability to send them messages.
- When you first log on to MyOSCAR, your record will be shared with two others: your physician (ex. Dr.Chan@myoscar.org as Primary Care Provider) and an administrator (paula.best@myoscar.org as Friend.)
